There will be a meeting on Saturday, March 28th at 3:00 PM.  The meeting will be held at the North Branch of the Columbus Public Library (5689 Armour Road).  LeBron Matthews will be speaking about his book The Tides of War.

LeBron Matthews’ Civil War novel, The Tides of War, tells the story of Edwin Anderson, whose life changed in the 1860s when he joined the Columbus Guards.  This presentation will discuss the research LeBron did for his book.  His primary sources included such material as city directories, diaries, military manuals and reports, newspapers, personal letters, photographs, sermons, memoirs, and railroad guides. LeBron also consulted secondary sources such as biographies, histories, and journal articles. In addition to these printed sources, he listened to the expertise of other individuals and groups, learned through doing living history, and visited the sites described in the book.

LeBron Matthews is Pastor Emeritus of the Eastern Heights Baptist Church, where he served as pastor for 18 years.  He is a graduate of Georgia Tech and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a Doctor of Theology degree.
