Join us Saturday, April 12, 2025, 2:45 p.m., at the CSU Archives & Special Collections Suite on the Ground Floor of CSU Schwob Memorial Library. The program, “Using Archival Resources for Genealogical Research,” begins at 3:00 p.m. Experienced researchers in the Society will discuss a variety of archival resources that can help genealogists flesh out their family trees, adding stories and other interesting tidbits to bring those names on their charts to life! MGS member Callie McGinnis will describe some of these resources and show examples using items from the CSU Archives. Linda McCardle, MGS treasurer, will speak on her experience using one of the Archives’ collections, and Archivist David Owing will demonstrate how to search the collections online.
Even if you don’t have Columbus ancestors, you can benefit from this program. Learn how to mine the holdings of local history archives in the area where your ancestors lived, looking for the types of resources highlighted by the speakers.
Come early for light refreshments at 2:45 p.m.!
