Today in Columbus History (TICH) Archive
During the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the Muscogee Genealogical Society participated in a project to highlight people, places, and events that appeared in the Columbus, Georgia, newspapers. Volunteers took a date and looked in the newspaper on that date to find a topic they wanted to write about, usually using the Georgia Historic Newspapers digital resource. They researched that topic and wrote a short essay describing the people, place, or event and posted it to the Early Columbus Georgia and The Chattahoochee Valley Facebook page, along with illustrations. Over the next several months, we will be uploading those articles as a research resource for our members and friends.
