The Fall meeting of the Muscogee Genealogical Society will be on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 3pm at the Columbus State University Archives.
The speaker will be David Owings, the new archivist. David will be showing us an assortment of interesting collections that are in the Archives — some of which may help you with your Columbus research! It is definitely a place to learn about Columbus history!
The CSU Archives, as most of you know, is on the 3rd floor of the Simon Schwob Memorial Library on the main campus of CSU. Here are the easiest directions:
From University Ave., turn into campus at Clearview Circle (International Center is on the corner).
Go down Clearview and take the second right into a student parking lot.
Drive through this parking lot, under a a bridge and park in the lot straight ahead (even though it says Faculty & Staff only).
You may enter the library (the large building in front of you) at the basement level. We will have one of the doors open. You will take the elevator to the 3rd floor, where you’ll see the Archives.
The basement access will be open from 2:30 til 3; if you come before or after that time, you’ll need to take the outside steps and enter through the library’s main entrance.
Please join us on Oct. 5 for this interesting program.
